Because its a highway box.  9 times out of 10 if the run comes in for the BRP in the area of 233rd St, then you can bet YFD is responding too. That is not mutual Aid, but normal response for both agencies.
 
Remember, that there is also a box on the Bronx - Westchester border line for "Oil City" that FDNY responds to help Westchester with out the need to obtain permission from the Command Chief or anyone else.

Years back FDNY & Mt. Vernon had a major Haz-Mat job for a building on the border line. Both dept's worked on site for nearly two weeks until the premise was completely empty.

I do remember FDNY Engine 43 relocating to Yonkers Eng # 301 years ago when 301 was still in service at Yonkers HQ. station.

It's 8999 R-1.
As for 30 Truck and 69 Engine, we dispatchers do make mistakes. It was a miscommunication about getting relocators as opposed to companies for the job. Our former Deputy Director of Communications lived up the road, and is a well known 75 Buff. I think he was quite thrilled to see his boys rolling up with the 19 that day.
 
This morning there was a second alarm fire in yonkers & this morning around 8 my bus drove past the scene and i saw an FDNY engine at the scene i did not catch the company number
 
I forgot that  fdny sent several units up to white plains in july, it was the same day queens had a 6th and a 5th, and several other all hands had occurred in the city, and Brooklyn had a 2nd, and white plains had a transformer fire and lost a whole block that day. Might have been july 7th or so.

Yes it was July 7
 
What about the fire in the Con Ed transformer farm facility off the Sprain Brook Pkwy near Tuckahoe Rd in Yonkers. FDNY had foam units & maybe Purple K unit there.
 
The Con Ed Transformer fire was a major fire & the FDNY did have Foam units there but no purple k unit The foam unit was engine 96 with foam 95 . Engine 96 would have probably gone but at the time there foam rig was out of service

FDNY Engine @ our 2nd?? I doubt that, what did u think u saw ?

And, Yes on the FDNY Foam on Tuckahoe Rd about 15-yrs ago, the past 2- recent Xformer fires we had we didn't request, as we have a Foam rig now (Pkp did go M/A to WPFD)

Sure on that?? A second & 3rd alarm is pretty routine for us........wonder what u thought u saw. The scene of the 2nd isn't even that close to the Bronx border.......
