Because I always thought they were two different things, all hands is an upgrade

Correct. But the battalian needed a 10-77 response with the extra engines and trucks. All Hands signifies that all the requested companies are going to work to put out the fire.

All-Hands, from what I’ve understood, just means a minimum of 3 engines and 2 trucks will be committed to operating and going to work. This assigns the same response as a 10-75. Chief gave a 10-77 for the highrise, and notified the dispatcher that he’d use All-Hands on arrival which was 3&2 (everyone on scene)

Dispatch definitely said L26F and L26 confirmed the designation
I can 100% tell you 35 was first due, dispatcher said it, and I saw it with my own eyes on scene.

reference: car parked on E-35’s hydrant.

I don't remember seeing 14, 23 or 26. 40 was on 132 ST with 30 and 28. There was some other apparatus down Madison by R3 and but, I don't remember who.

Correct that an All Hands can be 3 and 2, it means they are using all on scene and are good. On a 10-75 you also get the Fourth Engine, Rescue, Squad, Fast Truck and Division. After the evaluation of what the issue is the Battalion updates with All Hands working or using 1 and 2 or 2 and 2 de[pending on the severity, i.e. rubbish fire in rear using 1 and 2. If the Battalion says 10-75 extra Engine and Truck Dispatch automatically gives the All Hands. 10-76 and 10-77 is like extra alarms in that it identifies a specific incident and it has an assigned response
