RET FF DANIEL G. NEWMAN LAD*6...WTC RELATED.

I worked with Dan at L 5...He lived in Breezy Point and was a good basketball player and had a cutting, dry sense of humor, part time gig as a lawyer who helped me sell my house...He and I used to share the stove cooking the meal...To make the meal a little different we used clean white bed sheets for table cloths and placed a candlelit candleabra as centerpiece...Priceless when covering officers or chiefs dined with us, many commenting they have never had dinner with a candleabra!...Rest in peace my friend.

I fully understand how hard it is for those members of Ladder 6 who have been through so much to now loose one of their brothers. I really did not know Dan well, but I still know alot of his brothers who served in Ladder 6 and are proud to call many of them friends. I worked for 9 years in the 4th Battalion and often was detailed to Ladder 6. May God comfort them on the loss of Dan and know we are thinking of them all.
