VINTAGE FDNY RIG PHOTOS.

For many yrs FDNY HQ was the 11th floor of the old Municipal Bldg at 1 Centre St in Manhattan ....then it moved into 110 Church St also in lower Manhattan......next it moved to 250 Livingston St in BKLYN ....then next moved to the present HQ at 9 Metro Tech in BKLYN.....(the old former Municipal Bldg in Manhattan at 1 Centre St has since been re named the Dinkins Municipal Bldg by the Deblasio crew when they were still in City Hall.)

The first of the "covered wagons" OTJ as dubbed by the members as they resembled the old Conestoga wagons that crossed America In the 1800s.
 
^^^ Not too long after these 1958 Mack Pumpers were purchased by the FDNY the Hose Bed cover frame became more squared off to allow more room for Members on top of the Hose Load both for re packing Hose & or for protection if need be....also a Metal Awning was installed over the Back Step.
