Firehouses with Former or Planned Ladder Companies

Usually when I walk my dog, I take her to firehouses. Thankfully due to being in Brooklyn there are a lot within walking distance. Recently I noticed both E*248's and E*250's firehouses are lettered for trucks. Anyone have an idea what companies they were or were supposed to be.

    USS COLE

My father served with the Captain of the Cole afterwards. He always spoke highly of him and how he never forgot his crew. Unfortunately, despite the Navy's recommendations the Senate refused to confirm his promotion him and essentially ended his career.

    Roster Staffing

Last year a big deal was made that due to more members than usual being on sick leave, the department was no longer contractually obligated to staff those companies with the fifth member until the sick leave went back under the contractually negotiated threshold. It's something that happens from...

    Just Saw This on Facebook

I've seen it countless times, especially the elderly and the paraplegic. It may sound funny but, these patients are in real distress and in need of help.

This was probably six years ago, prior to the big fleet upgrade. Back when the 1988 E Ones were still seeing regular duty as front line apparatus.

    Hurricane Helene Response

The Captain was correct, not that I ever doubted him. An email went out today about EMS members going to Florida or North Carolina. Of course I was injured at work today so I can't apply. Only time will tell if members are actually sent.

Newark Fire has put their ladder companies in Dodge Durangos before. Obviously very minimal tools, masks and gear in the trunk.

    Hurricane Helene Response

As of right now aside from a handful of members who deployed with TF1, there hasn't been a mass deployment of FDNY EMS. But, if there was I'd love to go down and help.

    BKLYN HYDRANT FISH POND VANDALIZED.

Agreed about the pressure, but the undermining can seriously affect the hydrant given enough time. Erroding around the pipe and allowing rust to form.

    BKLYN HYDRANT FISH POND VANDALIZED.

The pond as it currently is needs the hydrant to be open which both undermines the hydrant and reduces water pressure available.
