March 28th or 29th Jackson Mississippi

Dont know how much the rig was insured for either which may or may not help. But the keyboard warriors on fb already condemned the dept for bringing a aerial tower to a grass fire.

Its very briefly in the video I posted. There's a few things running thru my mind but most of what I've seen is contradicting. ( Not the hw location)

March 28th or 29th Jackson Mississippi

A Jackson Miss aerial tower was destroyed when a grass fire that was sparked from an apartment building fire, turned and surrounded the truck. The crew escaped but we're unable to save the rig. From Fire Rescue 1 https://www.facebook.com/share/1CqvJLMTez/

    Washingron DC new rigs questions.

Apparently, Washington DC is trying to buy 18 new rigs for about 25 million. And there may be some issues with the order. Like the purchasing DC avoiding competitive bids and formerly working for the manufacturer. Apparently HME. City Council is now getting involved. Allegedly, the fd called...

    3/27/26 Bronx 3rd Alarm 10-66 Box 3514

Yes. I was just looking at a video trying to figure out where housewatch is. The 27 is in 37s bay but in-between the supports for the 2nd floor and the officers side of the ladder. They can only get out 37s side.

It'll be a few days if not weeks before they make a decision. They'll have to at the very least do a major clean up before they even think about living in it. They'll also have to do a major inspection for stability of the upper floors. Then someone will make a decision.

You forgot the part where in the 90s JFK barely maintained its certs because the crash trucks barely made the minimum required water capacity. I mean if the FAA requirements were for 15000 gallons of available water, they had 15000. When they built the new station out by 4 l/r, they sloped the...

    3/22/26 Queens 2nd Alarm Crash Box 0037

Was just looking at Fb and of course just about everybody is talking about this in someway shape or form. But 1 article brought up an interesting point, and of course the comments are all over the place. The article states that at first no one told the passengers what to do. Thinking normally...

Its not what it looks like. Airports are entirely different animals. Basically you have to have special permission and training just to drive on the field, and that's to work there. The PAPD has their own set of sogs. When its determined that FDNY is needed, the units are staging at their main...

    3/22/26 Queens 2nd Alarm Crash Box 0037

Its different then that. Its tailored specifically for anything the airports can throw at FDNY. A normal 2 or above has 1 satellite. There's 3- 4,2,6, plus the hose wagon(308) initially assigned. Theorettically 4 including the hose wagon even if it doesn't have the full equipment load out...

    3/22/26 Queens 2nd Alarm Crash Box 0037

Its.a specifically modified 2nd. There's 3 satellites with their transport engines, hose wagon with its associated transport engine, foam task Force, 2 rescues at least 2 squads i think, 2 marine units plus numerous other specialty units.

There are, but there few and far in-between. At 1 point and i dont know if it's changed or not but on 269 and 37 certain units are designated as drafting companies. E331 is/was 1 on 269.

Airport ops vehicles and push back tugs also have to have atc approval before doing certain things. (Kennedy Steve on yt loved to pick on Deltas tugs) What a lot of people dont realize is that airports are really dangerous in general but looks routine.Until it isn't. Even just working airside...

    3/22/26 Queens 2nd Alarm Crash Box 0037

If im not mistaken, each airport has staffing based on its load. I think Washington for example has only 1 from a certain time on based on low activity. I honestly dont know what the levels are for LGA during what times. But yeah there is a problem staffing training and retaining atc. Even if...

    3/22/26 Queens 2nd Alarm Crash Box 0037

Having worked the ramp at Kennedy and looked at least on the surface at several recent incidents, theres a few different ways it could happen. I dont want to speculate, until some more facts come out. And theres more near misses and incident on the ground that make the rounds.

    3/19/26 Queens 2nd Alarm Box 1620

The system exists. Where i used to work, we had AVLs in every rig for that reason. It was used mostly, by the ambulances. The downside is, that they were constantly getting stuck in other areas. For hours on end. But using it for fire calls, especially multiples that go quick it can be very...
