3/27/26 Bronx 3rd Alarm 10-66 Box 3514

So what is the correct ventilation tactic for a fire on the ground floor extending to an occupied second floor?

Do you open the apparatus doors if they're still operable?

Not unless you have a good amount of water on the fire. That big of an opening is gonna give a lot of air to that fire if you don’t.

E206 - 1907
E86 - 1930 (pilot house on fireboat)
Marine 5 - 1965
E94 - 1968
E245 - 1968 (during renovation)
E207 - 1971 (roof on NYPD side of building)
E290 - 1973
E294 - 1974
Marine 5 - 1978 (again)
R1 - 1985 (collapse of exposure building)
E80 - 2008
E65 - 2013
E163 - 2024

These burned while occupied - vacant stations burned before demolition not included.
Didn't 84/34 have one, maybe two kitchen jobs? about 50+ years ago?
E94 had the gasoline pump ignite while fueling the engine. Took out the 2nd floor and the 3rd floor locker room. Commissioner tried to blame the ECC for smoking while fueling; Al J. never smoked a day in his life.
In light of this, given the presence of residential sleeping rooms and office space above a garage, one would think the job a long time ago would have installed automatic sprinklers at the very least across the 1st flooor ceiling and into the pole holes. Also where is the secondary means of egress from the 2nd floor in a firehouse?

Time of alarm should be 06:00,
@06:01. Phone alarm, box#4907 Bainbridge Ave & Bedford Park Blvd, fire on the roof.
@06:02. (Corrected to) it’s going to be E-79’s quarters. / E-48, and L-56 both advised, of a fire in the firehouse, L-37 is telling us they are trapped upstairs. Box has been loaded up.
I think the box# was changed to 3514, with the new address 2928 Briggs Ave.

3514 has been 79/37s Home Box forever.

Are they going to be able to use the firehouse. Looks pretty charred
It'll be a few days if not weeks before they make a decision. They'll have to at the very least do a major clean up before they even think about living in it. They'll also have to do a major inspection for stability of the upper floors. Then someone will make a decision.

From the audio it sounds like the Bronx transmitted the 10-75 based on the phone alarm from the guys in the house.

I can recall a fire on the roof of E 207/ 84 Precinct while workers were spreading tar on the roof. I think that it was 2006 or 7
There’s a video somewhere on YouTube as well but it’d probably be hard to find with all the search results coming up with this morning’s fire
