1/29/2025 Washington DC Plane in the Water

Ive always heard from 1st responders to jet crashes that the JP5 stink overwhelms all, despite whatever they may have seen on site that day or in years before. Sure, you may have seen worse or dealt with worse in recoveries but the JP5 stink follows you to your hotel or home, into your non duty...

Thats a shitty thing to say about a person who just died in a fire. Regardless of circumstances.

    Blocked NYC fire hydrants

Does NYPD no longer operate a tow truck fleet? They certainly did when I lived in the city and were not the least bit shy about towing entire blocks of cars and dropping them wherever any time Gossip Girl was filming in my neighborhood, sometimes over an hour before the posted no parking window...

    Guarding the Super Bowl

My personal favorite video of a MITO, from the film Gathering of Eagles and taped at Blytheville AFB in Arkansas. Quite literally, holy smokes Batman!

1/17/25 Bronx Unusual Incident Box 3713

My buddy was just talking about this accident the other night, a rare catch of 52/52 house in action on video. Also always impressive to see how versatile those big wreckers can be but they definitely messed up that buses alignment something fierce yanking it out of there with the wheel turned over.

1/29/2025 Washington DC Plane in the Water

Certainly looks like a major miscalc on the PAT25 side, the AA flight was on an established and published glideslope approach to 33. The fact they called that they had the AA flight in sight and still kept on is beyond sad. I hope for comfort for all the families who have lost loved ones in what...

Are they still working this fire or is it down to watchline at this point? Surprised to see that a satellite wasn't used for deluge purposes given the volume and ferocity of the fire. Those flames were white hot and ripping in Skyler and Johns videos!

Los Angeles- Palisades and Eaton Fires 1/7/25

Way off topic at this point but its nothing short of amazing that both CA and FL (and other states) continue to allow newbuilds in areas that have been wiped out by fires and hurricanes in recent decades, years and months. Insurance has been holding the line since but the legislatures regardless...

Los Angeles- Palisades and Eaton Fires 1/7/25

If the wind keeps up like this the only thing thats going to stop that fire will be the Pacific. What a nightmare

Los Angeles- Palisades and Eaton Fires 1/7/25

Apparently for a good period of time yesterday the winds were too high for helicopter operations, and one of the closest helibases to the palisades fire was overrun and destroyed.

Pilot's Description of F-18 Friendly Fire Shoot Down From USS Gettysburg

Id imagine there were quite a few folks on the Gettysburg, the E-2 and in the Carrier CIC who woke up the next day with freshly roto rootered bungholes and brand new ranks and plenty to think about until the Cod arrived to take them shoreside
