If you listen to the dispatcher, there is additional info as the units are responding (now getting D2 as the apt., etc.) - contact is made to E75/L33, usually indicating 1st due units

Building is right behind Alexander's...for those of us who remember. Always just about a dead heat to the box from 75/33 and 48/56, even from their former quarters. Traffic probably determines who's in first.

At that hour of the morning with NO Fordham Road traffic 48/56 would be clear first in's especially now that 75/33 have to come out to either Jerome or da Concourse to come up then across. During the day that's a whole different story

Also, come out da front door hook a right around to Fordham Road and that is the corner of stores that FF Ronaldson R3 died when the floor where he was standing let go and he feel into the store below (Forgive me I forget the year)

As an outsider to the Bronx, and knowing very little about its thoroughfares, from just looking at the map here it looks like 48/56 are much closer to the box. It’s actually a surprise to me that it’s a close call between them and 75/33.

75/33 used to be on Jerome and 183 St, so go out quarters to the left under da el and right on Fordham Road. That back then was a borderline box. Today 75/33 are on Walton south of 182 St, like your map shows, which makes it a longer run with more turns involved, especially Walton Ave is a south bound street. But any day at any time who knows who gonna get in first either now or then

No question that google maps show that E48/L56 are closer. Not sure of who actually got in 1st - I'll just restate that the dispatcher transmitted that they were getting apt. D2 on 4th floor and confirmed receipt of this info with L33, E75 & B19:
BxD: getting apt. D2, ladder 33?
L33: 10-4

BxD: E75?
E75: no response

BxD: B19?
B19: 10-4
Seems to me this would indicate that those were the 1st due units. He did not request acknowledgement from E48/L56

With the BARB system, nothing is a surprise.

Box 3356 is listed for the Intersection of Creston Avenue and East 190th street. If you know this neighborhood those cross streets (and the fire building in question) are located a mere 200 ft. north of Fordham Rd. Since Creston Avenue is one way southbound map functions will redirect the route from both 75/33 and 58/56 around in circles.

In fact, all these units will just go to Fordham and Creston to get to this box. Do your mileage calculations to there. .6 miles from both firehouses.

75/33 go left out of quarters for one block, left onto Morris Ave, straight run to Fordham Rd. 48/56, left out of quarters, left on to Fordham Rd., straight run to Creston Ave.The NYC Fire Alarm Assignment Guide published in 1994 has 75/33 listed as first due.

But as 8060 said, since BARB nothing is a surprise.
