10-76 vs 10-77... Why does a MD get a VSU on a 10-77 but a commercial not get assigned a VSU?

10-76 gets a VSU as well, HR-2 in this case, is designated the VSU. 10-76 doesn't get HRN engine though.

Interesting. VSU is generally a Truck and not an engine. I guess HR2 has all the necessary equipment for vent

HR1 and HR2 are both designated as vent support units

In Manhattan the VSU are typically the highrise units. I’m not sure what the street cutoff is, but I’d say most jobs below 125th street are given to HR 1&2

In addition to their response areas, HR units are also assigned to other boroughs in the case when a 10-77/10-76 becomes a 2nd Alarm, in addition to the VSU unit already assigned on the initial 10-77/10-76.
