Just an FYI:
10-75 is a "request" for a full first alarm assignment including special units.
ALL HANDS is a notification signal that all first alarm units are operating.
Don't confuse the two.

Upon receipt of numerous sources for a fire location, the dispatchers have usually 4 engines, 3 trucks*, rescue and squad respond. That is what the assignment would be upon a 10-75 signal received from a first arriving unit, hence "loading up the box."
* One truck is designated as the "FAST" truck.

Ok. So does this mean dispatch gets the units that would roll for a 10-75 in route before a 10-75 is confirmed since the multiple calls are corroborating a fire?

Correct. The only units that don’t go are the Division, 10-75 chief, the RAC and the FAST truck

"Loading the Box" is influenced by both the number of calls (or Boxes pulled IF they are working) = "QUANTITY" of calls ..... plus the "QUALITY" of the calls picked up on by an experienced Dispatcher as they interview the caller.

The division was in the area on the east side so they were assigned.
