10-29-12 Queens- 6th Alarm (Breezy Point) Box 8300

Chief....There is a 1400's series box that they are using for a fire sector........The company was told to go to B. 218 St.

Is this box for the Breezy Point watch line  or the command post.............I am assuming the watch line since 329 is on B. 169 Street

There are no boxes in Breezy Point other than one pull box which is 8300.........  if a resident calls security & reports a Fire anywhere in Breezy  the Security  steps outside & pulls 8300...in Breezy there are 2 Volly FDs Point Breeze on the Ocean side & Rockaway Point on the Bay side of the main road...both of these as well as Roxbury respond to all the Alarms in both Breezy Point & Roxbury........... .Beach 218 St. is in Breezy.........the 1400s are farther east...... there is a 1400 numbered  box xxxx that is at the Roxbury Volly House ....Roxbury is a smaller community located on the Jamaica Bay Side only (as opposed to Breezy which fronts on both the Atlantic Ocean & Jamaica Bay)    in between Breezy & ENG*329..... Box 1446 is 329s Homebox so this would be for the 329 Command Post ........ box 1407 which started as the St. Francis Rectory Fire which spread to several blocks is separate from Breezy/8300......the other Fire epicenter that night  was around Rockaway Beach Blvd & 116 ..115 & 114 Sts.

Unbelievable that Manhattan companies made their way all the way out there. I'm guessing this will probably go down as one of the biggest jobs in the city's history?

I do not know if it was the biggest.............. but my old BN the 46 was the 1st due BN assigned from Elmhurst ..........LAD*124 from Bushwick arrived before any one else & provided preliminaries & instructions for responding Units......the 2nd Section of the Rescue BN had seen this Fire from the Marine Pkwy Bridge much earlier but was not able to get there due to the tidal flooding.
