Was initially an EMS response for Engine 65.

1032 - MD - E-65, we are getting reports of a residential ceiling collapse, building under contruction (minor collapse matrix assigned).

1037 - Bn. 8 - We are getting reports of 1 black tag victim.  Continue with the minor collapse units.

1040 - Bn. 8 - Have Department of Buildings respond.  The building is still unstable.

1045 - R-1 - Start out our collapse rig.

1049 - Bn. 8 - All Hands - No additional units needed at this time.  The rear of a 5 story building has collapsed.  We have 1 DOA and 1 patient trapped.

TL-21 FAST

1051 - Div. 3 - Give me another Rescue Task Force, DEP, OEM, & Buildings.

1pm still has one red tag trapped. Rescue medics operating prolonged extrication

Anyone catch the 2nd alarm assignment

Did I miss it or did she not read it off the air

Hope this isn't a dumb question:  when they request activation of Res6cue on a "right now" basis, where does the manning come from?  Are off-duty folks called in?  Are there enough rescue guys in SOC "desk" jobs to cover it? Or what?

I was wondering the same thing, if it's off-duty it's going to take a while to get the manning in place.

Wow, that was one hell of a technical-response.

I mean it was "just" a 2nd Alarm but hey three rescues and three squads.
That sure is kinda rare.

By the way: Which vehicles is currently used as rescue 6?
Spirit of Oklahoma?

Strange - I see that E-54 required a relocation engine but I don't see them on any of the dispatch list.  I'm very much assuming they were there, unless the G-man theory was in effect for them again.

Basically from home. R-6 , is a reserve rescue ...not a spare... full equipped , we'll about 85% equipped, stored at the SOC warehouse on Forster ave in Canarse. When a major incident , like a 10-60 accrues , at the discretion of the on duty SOC Chief , R-6 can be activated to either responder to the scene or to back fill in the quarters of one of the Rescue companies.
R-4's old rig is R-6 ....The Oklahoma is a spare

The link you provided requires registration to the website.  Could you please summarize what it said and let us know how the reserve rescue is manned when it is activated.

Rescue 6 is put into service by orders of the soc chief.  It is basically 85% equipped. Members are called in to man the rescue  It can be assigned to the incident or used to back fill one of the rescues that are operating.  Hope this helps

Thanks for the link, Truckie, but it really didn't answer the question, just said that the SOC Chief can activate R6.  It didn't say where the manning would come from.  I get the idea (which may be totally wrong) that there are enough rescue guys floating around in other SOC jobs to man the appatatus.

Members are called in from home. My buddy was called to go in and staff it. It will take time for them to get to their fh to get their gear and then report to R6

SOC will send out a mass text to man R-6 , member will call and make themselves available...and no there generally aren't enough SOC member just floating around to man R-6 .
