10-91 Medical Emergency EMS - Fire Unit Not Required10-91 out of service for XXX
Taking a guess at this,I am not a responder but is there a 10 code that is used as a shortcut for "engine x taking time to decon, restock and document".
10-99 Units will operate over 30 minutesThe 10-29 Signal was and I believe still is used when a FDNY Company is on an EMS run and will be operating for more than 1 Hour because CPR is being performed by the FDNY members of that unit. I used it once when I was the Captain of Engine 26 and we responded to a cardiac in a Health Club Gym. I member of Engine 26 drove the ambulance to the old Saint Vincent Hospital in the West Greenwich Village, so that both EMS Paramedics on the ambulance could stay in the back of the ambulance to treat the patient. We got her to Saint Vincent's alive, but I heard later she could not be saved. Not the proper use of the 10-29 signal, but we were out of service and out of our normal response area for well over 1 full hour. Captain Bob Rainey FDNY Engine 26 retired
10-29 is currently the code for an elevator emergency. Code 1 occupied, code 2 unoccupied. The 10-29 Signal was and I believe still is used when a FDNY Company is on an EMS run and will be operating for more than 1 Hour because CPR is being performed by the FDNY members of that unit. Thank God for the correct answer "Taking Time to Decon & Resupply will notify you when we are back in service"There is no such 10 code. Verbal notice to dispatcher instead.
