From what I heard, that's a storage compartment in-between the back seats. It's the same setup as if the engine compartment was in the middlekidfrmqns said:Interesting interior design. Is that the engine in between the crew in the rear of the truck similar to the way Seagrave used to be? Does it seat 2 firefighters on each side with the engine compartment in the middle?

Gman, I think in addition to what you're saying here is the aerials have to be field tested also.I believe they are being made by a different co. L30 & L132 were selected in the early 80's for assignment of the two mack rearmounts that had LTI ladders. the reason why they were selected was because of the amt of times they raised the stick the previous year and they were figured to do it again. The aerial was great but the only problem with the Truck was that it was top heavy and the prohibitive cost at the time was probably more important. I received an e-mail from a friend saying that L132's rig was almost done.guitarman314 said:Some of these assignments are going to really "test" the reliability and durability of the new Ferrara rigs. L4, 24, 32, 113, 123, 132 & 165 are amongst the busiest runners; 81, 137, 169 & 173 are going to get more than their share of exposure to salt water spray; and L49 is going to do some severe hill climbing.

Remember when L24, 32, 42, 137, 154, 156 & 169 got rigs with a new type of automatic transmission? Also when L4, 38, 49 & 165 got heavy duty aerials with raised roofs over the jumpseats?
