Yes, New York City gets brush fires too.
Not just high rise building fires, row frames, private dwellings, large commercial buildings, and brick H type - multi family buildings, 4 to 6 stories..
They have it all.

Manhattan has BFU 8 (E97), Staten Island has BFU 2 (E166), BFU 3 (E156), BFU 4 (E154), BFU 5 (E161), BFU 1 (E164). Queens has BFU 7 (E266), BFU 6 (E321)

Might be slightly inaccurate, Unit Location Chart I got the list is from D.O. 132 in 2006.

BFU6 (E321) is in Brooklyn. Plenty of brush fires in Marine Park, Gerritsen Beach, and along the Belt Parkway
