Thanks. I know the 39 runs to at least the bridge and 165. Don't know where the cutoff is. Same with 331. I know there's a 1st/2nd due line somewhere around there

Cross Bay Blvd. years ago was the go to place for drag racing. High speed would probably be the reason for such a horrific accident.

Probably still is. I don't think there's any lights or sharp bends between the bridge until after the Sanctuary

Anybody have any insight on why this is an R4 box and not R2? I get that it is in Queens but R2 appears to map substantially closer. Am I missing something?

R4 Has A Pretty Straight Shot To It... Queens Blvd --> Woodhaven Blvd --> Cross Bay Blvd

R2 Is Closer Distance Wise Though.

Back in the '70s two Off Duty FFs from ENG*214 died along the stretch of Crossbay alongside the Bird Sanctuary while riding on a Motorcycle.

Like i said i know theres a line somewhere in that area. Just don't know where.
It's a strange area dispatch wise. The box for 165 and the Blvd( there's 2. 1 a 1600 series and the other is a 2000 series i think i know there 2) is 331,285,225 and either 236 or 308 L173,142,107, 39,51 and the 13.
Move down in the Channel and beyond, and 107 goes before 142. And there's somewhere oddities that go with it. I get 137, 266 etc get thrown into the mix but you would think that the first alarm from HB would shift in order down south but it doesnt.

There was a fire not long ago, someone posted the card for a little further down and it was 107 instead of 142. Both were available. It was fairly recent. Like within the last year. I want to say it was a 1300 series.

Internal SOC politics.......god forbid closest resources go ....been like this for 30-40 years.......same reasons Squads don't go on all reported pins ..Rescue captains have too much pull to keep their empires strong....

Ahh I was looking in Crossbay not down in Rockaways

No problem. I know after a certain point the Rockaway companies start coming up.

I found the incident. It was 1288 July 4th 2023. Either the 13 or 47 special called 2 trucks and they got 173 and 107.

When 176 was in the Tin House we responded to Utica and Union passing up Eastern Pkwy and Utica. Reasoning back then was they wanted a Tower Ladder (111) on Eastern Pkwy.. Most of those Buildings on the Pkwy. were H type buildings.

Will Squads respond if there assigned usually as first due Engine or does SOC not let them do that either?
