12/25/17 Manhattan 2nd Alarm Box 915

Just to clarify Joeyengine's reply...that FDNY Ambulance 1..not EMS...not a hospital's ambulance.  When I did light duty in Amb 1 many, many years ago it was a beat up Suburban. We'd transport guys with minor injuries to and from the hospital/ Medical Office.  There was/is a big rig Ambulance but that stays home unless something major going on.  Stay safe.

Don,  showing your age. Amb01 now signifies that EMS has been notified and responding. Was added to cads a few years ago.

Hahaha...Thanks manlt.  Appreciate the correction.  And you're right.  The years kinda fly by.  Been almost 30 years since that light duty stint. Thanks for going easy on me.  Stay safe.

Here's what FDNY Ambulance 1 looked like in the early 1950's . . . a Flxible . . .

If memory serves, weren't those department ambulances disbanded back when the Job merged with EMS?
