A man was killed after suffering a medical emergency behind the wheel while leaving a McDonald’s parking lot lot on Atlantic Avenue and Vanderbilt Street. A man was ejected from the car. A woman rider suffered critical condition. The pair faced a tragic 20 foot drop into the LIRR railyard just before 12:45 p.m on Friday afternoon. NYPD Emergency Services unit, officers from the 78 Precinct and Firefighters from Ladder Company 105, Rescue Company 2 and Squad Company 1 used extrication tools to remove the woman from the car. The man was pronounced deceased at Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. At this time it is unclear who the driver was and an investigation remains ongoing as the Highway Collision Investigation unit processes the scene.
