Interesting to see that box 1833 is a few blocks below box 1788. Don’t see that very often in Manhattan. Only places off the top of my head are Battery Park and Roosevelt island.

Yes, that is an Interesting point, FDNY Response.
Perhaps the grid for the Manhattan 1800 box numbers were laid down after the 1700 series, to fill out the development of the northern sector of the borough? Similar to the 47xx and 49xx circuits in the west Bronx? That’s just a SWAG ( military term for Silly Wild Ass Guess). Maybe our dispatcher brethren have better info.
