From what I heard the new "FireCAD" recommends the closest companies - if a relocator is 10-8 in an operating unit's area, it will suggest them to the box if it progresses in alarms, unlike the way StarFire used to do it.
Also heard the upper staff of the FDNY is on board with getting the closest companies there, as opposed to waiting for outlying companies. They prefer to just keep backfilling.
