Ah, Marble Hill. The part of Manhattan that's on the mainland. It had a 212 area code after we switched to 718. Also, at 1:46 in that video, ugh - I don't like that parapet. The beams were already burning.

It was once part of the land with Manhattan but the channel went up and around Marble Hill. Way back when it was decided to make the channel straight across from da Hudson River to da Harlem River and use the dredged land to fill in old channel pass thus disconnecting it from Manhattan but the politicians didn’t want to lose their areas.

Anyone truly interested just google "Harlem River Ship Canal". Great story. No way this could get done today.
