Amazing none of those cars caught fire post-collapse, theres got to be a lot of crushed gas tanks and shorted wiring in that rubble. Hopefully the demo doesn't spark anything off.

Gotta love the fact the robo-dog is painted like a Dalmatian.

Looks like it was used for hotel parking. Very cramped building to be a parking garage.
It's not just Hotel parking, its a General Parking garage. The Sheriffs Office also uses it. All Deputies and Investigators stationed there are safe and accounted for.

Update, 1 DOA, 5 Injured, 1 refused Medical Attention, surronding Area including Pace University Housing on the block we're evacuate.

building had violations dating back 20 years. it shouldnt have had cars on its roof let alone people.
45 to be exact. Along with 4 complaints. According to the DOB documents back in '57. It was supposed to have "5 or more" cars per floor. If you we're watching it live yesterday you know there was alot more.

Interesting pic of the site from last year on Reddit:

I count 23 vehicles just on this portion of the roof. That's an absurd amount of weight!

FDNY Robotics was actually doing a PR demonstration introducing the dog in Manhattan right before this incident and within an hour were there operating with it for the first time.
Yes, they were at 1 Vanderbilt for the FDNY Foundation climb to the summit demonstration.

What do you mean by watchline duty? I know they do that for Brush Fires, and E297 is Queens.
It’s a precautionary line at a scene in case of any ignition. They rotate companies every so often. They send engines from other burrows to rotate.
