Was that house vacant?

There’s a row of houses that were combination of being sold, boarded up, vacant, torn down, etc..

Guess someone wants the process of clearing the land sped up

in the late 80s early 90s that area had a whole bunch of vacant fires in houses that are now where the wendys shopping center is. now they are developing along amboy there, i think this is the 3rd job on that stretch in the last 2 years

I know in the past, satellite was assigned on every all hands in SI due to low pressure, lack of hydrants, and other issues.

For decades, hydrant pressures on SI have been ridiculously high. Is it necessary to keep sending the satellite automatically in 2026?

Better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it

I wouldn’t call 60 psi that high. There are other factors in play. Older sections of the Island are on 6 and 8 inch mains, only fed from one direction. Many dead end blocks. If there haven’t been big infrastructure upgrades, hydrants can be scarce in wooded areas, with a few houses along the way. The satellite response wasn’t necessary for low pressure, but insufficient water supply

To add on, this box specifically is surrounded by dense woods and is one of the oldest areas of island. To top it off, probably one of the scarcely covered areas of city for fire coverage after 151/76 get in. If there were ever a box to send a SAT to, it’s this one on the AH

Isn't the rest of the city like 20?
