the 3 new 95s are TL21, TL22 AND TL35Thanks Doug!!
All three companies are along 10th Avenue/Amsterdam Avenue on the West side. Interesting how at some boxes TL21 and TL35 might even be at the same job. Wonder if the city would not send two 95’ together so they can be saved for other areas of the city if needed.the 3 new 95s are TL21, TL22 AND TL35
I guess they are positioning them in areas of high need so in reality if 2 are responding on the 1st alarm there they larger possibility that they will both be needed compared to many other portions of the city. It seems like we're replacing more and more the 75' units with easy 95's except where limited by the capacity of the stations to hold them! All three companies are along 10th Avenue/Amsterdam Avenue on the West side. TL23 for sure can’t hold a 95 footer… they can’t even make the turn out of the firehouse now without backing upI guess they are positioning them in areas of high need so in reality if 2 are responding on the 1st alarm there they larger possibility that they will both be needed compared to many other portions of the city. When L-153 had a 95 foot TL they ran in first and second due on some boxes with 95 foot L-172.All three companies are along 10th Avenue/Amsterdam Avenue on the West side. Yes but the additional 20' of height is also a great benefit in many areas for many types of fires. Just like everything else you have to take the good with the bad and there are trade-offs in every case! Personally, in most situations I would deftly rather have the additional height!95 foot tower ladders. No thanks.
total PITA around most areas. Beast to turn in right congested areas
163 did not get there new 95' yet. They are in a spareDid 163 get there new rig? Or did they get a spare assigned to them?
I believe a Spare 75 footer163 did not get there new 95' yet. They are in a spare
not going to be for whileDid 163 get there new rig? Or did they get a spare assigned to them?
I believe a Spare 75 footer
Interesting to note that 163s former rig given the names still listed in yellow on the driver's door (Thomas Gambino, John Downing) is currently at Ladder 85. E159 has been in a spare for a few weeks now as well and they are running a 2008163 did not get there new 95' yet. They are in a spare
Surprised they didn’t get there old rig assigned back to them.Interesting to note that 163s former rig given the names still listed in yellow on the driver's door (Thomas Gambino, John Downing) is currently at Ladder 85. TL9 is surrounded by Tillersthat's because of the scaffold and parked cars. busy block. they can hold the 95. 44 gets in there but they don't want it. they are surrounded by tillers, the streets are tight enough.
Its not only about being capable of making a turn out of quarters….the apparatus floor may not be able to support the additional weight of a 95’.TL23 for sure can’t hold a 95 footer… they can’t even make the turn out of the firehouse now without backing up
That's certainly true in some cases however as far as TL23 goes obviously weight isn't an issue because 44 states in quarters when relocating at that station. Its not only about being capable of making a turn out of quarters….the apparatus floor may not be able to support the additional weight of a 95’.
