New York City Fire Department (FDNY)
·
On Wednesday morning, FDNY members responded to reports of smoke at 87-35 126th Street in Queens.
“We found heavy fire on the first floor of 87-35 and the next door building 87-37. The first due units removed two civilian occupants from the fire building,” said Queens Borough Commander Chief Joseph Ferrante. “There was a large amount of clutter, which made this a very labor-intensive operation. This eventually went to a third alarm assignment, bringing 33 fire and EMS units and about 140 members.”
“Upon arrival we found two victims had been removed from the building by firefighters,” said Deputy Assistant Chief Stacy Scanlon.
