WORKING FIRE AT 2070 GRAND CONCOURSE @ EAST BURNSIDE AVE. FIRE IN A  6 BRICK OMD IN WING "C" ON THE 5TH FLOOR.
EXTRA ENG & TRUCK (46 & TL 44).

2070 Grand Concourse

1916hrs- Div. 7 transmitted the 3rd Alarm. Fire on the 5th and 6th floor. Co's making progress.

The 3rd Alarm Engines were 43 - 93  - 79  42  &  BC 16

Was it a colliers mansion? Tough stretch?

Curious bc the video shows fire vented for a while. Interested to know the conditions the boys faced. Tough job obviously

By the official City air miles calculation, it would be

75 42 48 46      33 56  27FAST  BN 19  R3 Sq61

88 43 45 92      38  59                Bn 18, 27

95 79 93 68      58 37

Looks like other boxes were out if 42 and 43 went on the 3d, as reported.

But then, these things always differ as STARFIRE makes up its mind.

Thanks Kevin for posting those videos. My favorite neighborhood and my favorite companies going to work. For some, this might sound a little strange, but after years of chasing this kind of stuff, "I'm still into it". I started hanging out in that neighborhood back in the late 70s and early 80s, and its still my favorite spot.

For many of us we know John Bendick Jr (FDNY Member) who has been out on injury leave for awhile now. He's going back to work in that neighborhood pretty soon. If I know John, he's looking forward to getting back into it too. "Ain't that right John"  ;D

I hate to say it but the assignment should be more like this:
75-42-46-43    33-27        B-19
48-92-88-45    59-56-38  B-17  B-18  D-7  RES-3  SAT-2
50-79-95-81    58-19        B-26  B-27
93-82-90-71    37-36
62-94-52-61    46-45

B-39 WAS THE AIR CHIEF

Relocations were (some) E80-45, L-128-59, B49-17, L54-44, L17-33, E-62-48, E-66-46, E94-42.

According to the engine assignment - the correct ladder assignment should be:
33-27
59-56-44
38-58
19-37
36-46

Great example of what happens with reduced manpower.  Many of the engines assigned to that fire used to have 5 men.  That's a big building and a long stretch- probably well over 10 lengths of hose.  Those guys probably went through a lot of doors holding back that fire.

L44 would be assigned before L58, L38, L37 and L19.
