Box location Manhattan Ave & Stagg Walk.....Williamsburg Houses.... the original NYCHA projects built in 1936 ....hand stretch....open stairs ...adjoining bldg for roof access.......years ago there still was a room in the cellar of each bldg that was built for Baby Carriage storage for the early tenants.....you could still read stenciled on the door "PERAMBULATOR ROOM".....we used to show that to a proby & ask what they thought it meant....most said "maybe electrical ? "....... it was actually the term for the old time fancy Baby Carriage with big wheels... fold down hood etc. ...... by the '70s most of these rooms were used for storage of all kinds of stuff no Carriages.
