Looks like Rescue 3 was using the 2002 Freightliner/American LaFrance (ex-R-6) "Spirit of Oklahoma" yesterday. ;)

I think you're correct Guitarman.  Just looked at photos just posted by Anesti on the 2 alarmer in the Bronx today, and they had the "Spirit of Oklahoma"

THROGS NECK BRIDGE UPDATE - Superstructure repairs were needed!

Throgs Neck Bridge repairs should be completed by mid-August

Officials say repairs will return the Throgs Neck Bridge to "near normal" by Aug. 10 -- a month after a construction fire that has caused traffic chaos.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority says there was "significant" damage to the span due to the fire, requiring the reinforcement and replacement of steel.

The agency says a ban for most trucks will be lifted Saturday on the bridge, which links the Bronx with Queens.

On Aug. 10, the Cross Island Parkway ramp and the third bridge lane are slated to reopen.

Further repairs and reconstruction work will continue into the fall.

About 112,000 vehicles use the bridge on an average weekday.

The Fire Department blamed a worker's blow torch for the fire.
