Just goes to show you money and getting the ambulance paid is the bottom line. Nobody gives a shit about resources or helping anyone anymore. Morale is at an all time low and hopefully they start addressing insanity like this. Second due engine is paramount to a top floor fire.

Also I’m sure 22 engine’s call type was an INJMAJ (major injury) for the 30 yo w. A paper cut bleeding— a CFR run. Surprised EMS didn’t downgrade it to an INJ minor- a non CFR run

How do each engine decide the location of their hydrant? Is this determined in advance, the hydrant to use for each engine of each box?

things to take into consideration re: what hydrants to take
you dont want to take a hydrant that will block out the truck companies from operating in the front of the fire building..
also its an easier stretch if you take a hydrant where the hose bed is past the fire building...hose then just flows off the hose bed toward the fire bldg and members can continue to size up fire bldg during the stretch in the event conditions change.
just to name a few

Definitely cant determine the hydrant in advance right now. Good ECCs will have an idea of the hydrants they wanna take, but between cars, hydrants tampered with, sidewalk construction to restrict intersections even more…its impossible to know what hydrants will even work or be accessible. Later arriving companies should try to grab hydrants on different mains if possible, take multiple alarm response patterns into account especially if tower ladders might be used, etc. Also one way streets definitely change the engine responses, especially 2nd thru 4th due.

43 first due on the ticket, but 13 already had the block and it sounded like over the HT the battalion said 13 your first due? Perhaps FDRV can clarify/confirm this.
