Also, when was the last time fallback 3 was implemented on SI twice in the same night? Has to be years. I can remember one other day about a year or so ago…a 5-6 alarm factory fire in Mariners Harbor and later that night a 2 alarm in Midland beach with 9 Truck first due. Other than that, years.

Very few companies on the island last night who didn’t see either job. Heavy fire extending to exposures at each job.
Most companies at this second alarm operated at the third. Think there are only one or two SI companies who saw no action from either.
Also of note squads 1 and 252 at some point were either relocated or dispatched to a run on SI. That’s three of the 8 squads seeing SI frequency.

E155, L78, E152 remained untouched? E153 was relocated to E164 and almost made it into the 3rd alarm but was told to take in an EMS run instead.

hmm that thing about E153 I wonder if it’s the same I was thinking about
If I remember correctly:

E153 to SI: We’re 10-8 in E164 area for the 3rd.

SI to E153: remain in-service for now

SI to E153: You’re getting a ticket for the 3rd

Then SI told them to instead respond to EMS run

So basically it’s 152, 153, 155 and L78 for four companies not seeing action at either box.

Just to put this out there: 17 engines, 12 trucks, 1 squad, 1 rescue, 3 bats protect the near 500k residents over 60 square miles. It’s not just fire protection that under serves Staten Island. They are under covered in EMS and hospital acute care beds.
