Two questions regarding the run down:

1. Can we assume that E253 has returned home to their quarters. It seems like a long run, on the 2nd, from E245’s quarters.

2. Any idea where E254 was. I would think that they would have responded on the
4th or 5th.

Thanks.

Think 253 is still in Coney Island, but this box would be one of their 2nd alarm boxes. They were there on the 2nd alarm, so perhaps even when temporarily relocated they keep their 2nd alarm boxes?

And 254 missed it, heard them request a mixer off message after the 5th was transmitted.

I would think E247 goes before E242 & E243. Straight run up 13th Ave.

In Skyler's video (reply #13) starting at 4:00 min., two members in shorts and no helmets (chauffeurs?) move a line into the narrow alley between exposures 4 & 4a with the help of another member in full bunker gear behind them.

Not criticizing their initiative to try to stop the the spread to 4a, but surprised they went into that narrow alley with all the strict FDNY rules, procedures and safety emphasis. You have to admire what the members of The Bravest do all of the time, but we only get to see in the videos posted on this site.

Thanks again to the video producers who are out there in the middle of the night capturing those images.

Firefighter Piotr Orlowski, assigned to Engine 202 in Red Hook, rushed into action when the fire broke out shortly before midnight at the family home on 74th Street, the FDNY union said on Twitter Sunday.

“He got them out of their own apartment and then he even helped next door,” said Patricia Ciurej, whose sister has dated Orlowski for 10 years. “He ran into the first floor back apartment where there’s a man. He’s like 90 years old. He literally carried him out himself, without gear or nothing.”
Ciurej, 28, who is sponsoring a GoFundMe page for the family, said Orlowski is severely distraught but grateful everyone is safe.
