Is it just my computer or have several notices been dropped?  What I'm seeing is a post from April 02, 2018, 05:53:07 PM ?  with the next entry being "Today (May 31, 2018) at 12:10:44 AM ? but I'm sure there were entries between those two dates.

Heartbreaking news this morning from the FDNY where beloved Assistant Chief Ron Spadafora has died in the line of duty following a incredibly tough but heroic battle against 9-11 World Trade Center Cancer.

Chief Spadafora was a 39-year veteran in the FDNY and its Chief of Fire Prevention. On 9-11, he responded to the World Trade Center and supervised both rescue and fire suppression efforts. He was named the WTC Chief of Safety in October 2001 for the entire Ground Zero Recovery Operation ending in late June 2002.

We were all thrilled to see him at FDIC just a few months ago, where, despite his battle and condition, he delivered his highly popular training program. He also took precious time to socialize with his many friends at that conference-and the smile on his face was unforgettable.

Ron was a brother and friend to so many and always interested, researching and teaching what was best for the FDNY, and all firefighters.

Our sincere condolences to the FDNY, Ron's family and his many friends around the world. He was a wonderful and inspiring man who set the bar on being a firefighter, fire officer and fire chief, positively impacting the FDNY and the entire world.

Rest In Peace.

FROM THE SECRET LIST ..QUOTE...... All,

FDNY Officials are on their way to the hospital in Baltimore to escort the late Chief Ron Spadafora back to New York City. It is anticipated that they will be returning to NYC later this afternoon along the northbound I-95/NJ Turnpike route, but a specific route has not yet officially been confirmed.

For those departments that are along that route and wish to pay their respects to Chief Spadafora with apparatus, Firefighters, American Flags etc on overpasses etc - please keep an eye here as well as on Twitter for additional and firmed up details.

This is just a heads up. More details to follow from the FDNY and IAFF.

The wake will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday at Franklin E. Campbell Funeral Chapel in Manhattan. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Church in Manhattan. Instead of a coffin, Spadafora?s remains will be wrapped in an American flag and laid in an aluminum stokes basket, ?just like his fallen brothers of 9/11,? said Roland-Shearer.

?Seeing his body wrapped in the flag allows people to experience what we who worked at Ground Zero witnessed,? she said.
