RET FDNY FF VINCENT C. ZUMMO....

Vincent C. Zummo, of West Palm Beach, FL, formerly of Richmond Hill, Queens, 87, died peacefully surrounded by family on August 13, 2014. Vincent served in the United States Navy during WWII on the USS NOA. He was a lifelong member of the VFW, American Legion and AMVETS. He was a celebrated volunteer at the West Palm Beach V.A. Hospital. He was a retired New York Firefighter from Firehouse 233 in Brooklyn, NY. Loving father of Anthony Zummo, Anna Amato (Carl), Elizabeth Ferrandino (Gary) & Maryann Zummo. Cherished Pop Pop of Lauren Persico (John), Michael Zummo, Alyssa Ferrandino & Thomas Zummo. Dear brother of Mary, Margie & Anthony. Predeceased by his siblings Antoinette, Betty & Patrick. Beloved uncle of many nieces and nephews. Reposing at Moore Funeral Home, 54 W. Jamaica Ave., Valley Stream, NY 11580. Visitation Friday 2-4pm & 7-9pm. Funeral Mass Saturday 9am at Blessed Sacrament Church, Valley Stream, NY. Brothers,

It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Retired Capt. Joseph Maurer.

Joe passed this morning (9/17/14) after a long battle with cancer. Joe was a charter member of the Steuben Association where he held many positions, the last being our scholarship chairman. After being promoted out of Ladder 44 to Lt., Joe was in Engine 319. After making Captain, he went to Engine 202.

He was a devoted husband to Jean, father to Linda and
Jill (Who passed on 9-11-01) and grandfather to Jake.
He was one of those step up guys and we will miss him dearly.
