WILTON NY-Raymond P. Fogarty, 77, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Glens Falls Hospital. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Ray was the son of the late Raymond and Lillian (Hillan) Fogarty. Ray has resided in Wilton, NY for the past two years moving from Henderson, Nevada. He served in the US Air force for four years. Ray retired as a Chief?s Aide for the 50 Battalion in NYC, having served faithfully for 31 years. He was a two time past president of the Retiree?s NYC Firefighter?s Association in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ray was the BIGGEST NY Mets fan EVER. While residing in Nevada, he enjoyed the casinos, restaurants and the beautiful weather. Ray was also an avid reader, trivia buff and loved cooking. Ray adored traveling with his wife Betsy. They traveled extensively through Europe, the Caribbean, Greece, Russia, New Zealand and to Ireland five times.
Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years Elizabeth ?Betsy? (McLaughlin) Fogarty. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 15, 2015. He is also survived by his loving children Patrick, Daniel, Kathleen, Mary and Dennis; his cherished grandchildren Danielle, Colleen, James, Gerard, Brayden, Payton and Keegan. Ray also leaves behind his brother Edward (Kathleen), his sister Kathleen (Martin), brother-in-law James McLaughlin (Susan), sister-in-law Nancy and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ray was predeceased by his brother John Fogarty.
Ray?s family would like to thank the staff, nurses and nurse?s assistants at the Stanton. A special thank you to Dr. Joseph Mihindu for Ray?s exceptional care.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 PM on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Singleton Sullivan Potter Funeral Home, 407 Bay Road, Queensbury, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at St. Mary?s Church, 62 Warren St., Glens Falls, NY.
Interment will be at St. Mary?s Cemetery, S. Glens Falls, NY.
