Thank you Chief for remembering all these FDNY War Years Vets. So many of them are leaving us now. They were the Greatest Generation of Firefighters.

  As posted most recently of the passing of FF Ray Sullivan, R2, they loved their families. They loved life. We can see that in the video and pictures that are posted in the obituary and legacy of FF Sullivan. Just as so many others who fought the fires of the FDNY War Years.

  As a young guy, these guys were my Role Models. I respected every one of them for what they did. These guys saved lives. I saw the compassion they had. Yet I also saw how tough they had to be. They demonstrated the meaning of what Brotherhood in the fire service is really all about. They didn't have to tell me about it. It was just there.

  May they all Rest in Peace.
