Jack,
When was Reginald Julius the Captain of 132?
my mistake he was a Lt. in L132 not Vincent.

I guess it was a senior moment and or just forgetfulness  LOL  It was Lt Vince that worked in 132 not Reginald. Sorry for the confusion but finally got it right.

RET FF JACK BLOMQUIST....REST IN PEACE BROTHER .....THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE BOTH MILITARY (USCG) & FDNY....PRAYERS FOR THE COMFORT OF THE FAMILIES...."Retired Firefighter Jack Blomquist formerly of Ladder 3 and Ladder 78 peacefully passed away yesterday 5-14-16 in Rehobeth Delaware. He was originally from Staten Island and well known on the North Shore."

Not one week, or maybe a day goes by when "Another War Years Vet Passes". The conditions they worked under, the huge amount of daily risk, the staggering number of fires, as well as the experience they all passed on should never be forgotten.

I know because I was there. Not as a firefighter, but only as an observer. Many of us who watched the job these firefighters did still talk about it today, including firefighters from many other departments. If you were NOT there, it is hard to imagine just what these guys did. Going from one fire to another with no breaks in between. They were the strong link in the chain holding a desperate city and its citizens together.

I'm sure many of those fire dispatchers have also passed on as well. They also did an incredible job with no use of high tech aids or computers. Just phones and a radio. They did their best trying to get companies for these War Year Vets, who often battled the red devil with whatever companies would be able to show up.

May EACH and EVERY ONE - Rest in Peace. They did an AMAZING JOB under the Worst of Conditions.

In regard to page 28 reply # 42 on 6-16-15 for Ret BC Larry Byrnes...Hampton Bays Road Renamed

On Tuesday, 5-24-16 the Town Board  unanimously voted to declare Columbine Avenue North in Hampton Bays as FDNY BC Larry Byrnes Way in honor of a longtime hamlet resident who died of cancer last year.

The road will be renamed to honor Battalion Chief Lawrence M. Byrnes, a 44-year member of the United States Navy and a 42-year member of the Fire Department of New York who achieved the rank of chief. Although he was retired from his firefighting duties when the terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center took place on September 11, 2001, he went to Manhattan that day to help his former colleagues in any way he could.

Chief Byrne developed cancer as a result of his work on September 11, and died June 14, 2015.

The ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, June 11th 2016 at 10am, Columbine Avenue North.

I don't think I ever saw Earl get excited or mad. He was always calm, cool, and collected. A great firefighter, terrific truck chauffeur, and an outstanding role model as a senior man. Rest In Peace, it was an honor and a privilege to know you.
