Here's the link to his obituary.

For each and every one of these FDNY War Years Vets who passes on, my sincere condolences goes out to their families and friends, along with the members of the FDNY. Particularly to those FDNY members who knew and worked with them.

Every time Another War Years Vet Passes, I read the names and the story that goes along with it. For the most part, I never knew them. But I certainly knew of the kind of work that these guys had done for their careers. I watched them do it. I learned from their every move. I saw them functioning during the busiest time for fires ever recorded in any history of any other fire department.

I may have talked to them in the street after a tough job. I may have ridden on the same fire truck with them when I was invited to do so. I'm sure that some of us had met along the way.

I will ALWAYS ADMIRE and RESPECT those guys as Firefighters for the job they did. Today I also know that I couldn't deal with the life that so many spouses and family members had to deal with. Worrying about their loved ones doing this job. I realize that those spouses and family members also played a major part in dealing with these FDNY War Years Firefighter careers. They lived a large part of that life as well.
