Following recd from the Fire Chiefs Association..... "It is with deep regret and profound sadness the Board of the Fire Chiefs Association announces the passing of
retired Dc. Francis M. Clarke Division 14, father to Dc Charlie Clarke Division 13 and board member of the Fire Chiefs Association. Chief Clarke proudly served our Country with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Upon his return from service he entered the FDNY, serving for 37 years from 1957-1993. Chief Clarke's assignments in his career include Engine 210, Battalion 47, Ladder 172, Division 10, Ladder 131, Battalion 44 and the Commander of Division 14. Please keep Chief Clarke and his entire family in your thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time.

He was a BC in the 12th for many, many years and truly one of the greatest fire officers (chiefs) that ever put on the white helmet. Later was promoted to DC and served in the 7th Div. For many years and his aide Gerry Zink (26Truck) went with him to the 7th and Gerry was working OT in 37T when he injured his leg with the running board of the truck and was retired. Great pair! May they Rest In Peace.
Later saw the AC in mid-town before he retired and was still the same, “no sweat’ easy going officer he always was......UNQUOTE,
