RET FDNY LT JOHN GARVEY  ENG*303 ......John Garvey OTJ since  '61......FF in ENG*233 (on Hull St).....well Respected LT in ENG*303 from '77 to '95.....He was never blustery or pounded his chest....just a friendly smile & sometime a cryptic joke or saying as he enjoyed his bowl of ice cream amid the rowdiness & commotion of the FH kitchen....... When John Retired he said to me "i saw South Jamaica burn down once , now it's getting rebuilt , i am not staying around to see it burn again"...... A pleasure to have known & worked with the Man .....REST IN PEACE BROTHER.....PRAYERS FOR THE COMFORT OF THE FAMILIES.

ACTIVE FDNY FF WILLIAM KOESTERER ENG*88....He had bladder cancer and died at home with his family by his side. He was 43 years old.He had a wonderful wife and two great kids 11 and 8.
He got on the job in 2003 and worked in E-88 for 11 years until his illness sidelined him. His deceased father was a FF in Brooklyn. His brother Mike is a Lt.in L-129. He loved his family very much and was a true stand up guy. Wake is at Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan Sat & Sun 2-4 and 7-9. Mass Monday 11am at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Tappan. Burial to follow. ..........REST IN PEACE BROTHER.....PRAYERS FOR THE COMFORT OF THE FAMILIES......GONE WAY TOO SOON.

 
John "Jack" Haggerty, 87, Of Kunkletown, Pa. passed away on Jan. 11, 2015.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy during W.W.II and was a NYC Firefighter for 34 years before retiring in 1987.

He was a member of the FDNY Retirees in Staten Island, FDNY Anchor Club, FDNY Emerald Society, FDNY Retirees Pocono division and a member of the UFOA.
Memorial donations may be made to Our Lady Queen of Peace, Roman Catholic Church, P.O. Box 38, Brodheadsville, 18322.

Funeral Mass Thursday 1/15/15 at 1100.

Loving husband of Gerry. Dear father of John J., Jr. and his wife Mary Petti-Weber and Lori Weber-Kazdan and her husband Scott. Also survived by his dear grandchildren John J., III and Marc and Matthew Kazdan. He was a decorated New York City Fireman, an Army Veteran member of the American Legion Seaford Post 1132 and a member of the Indian Motorcycle Club of Long Island.
