Boro Commanders

I could be wrong but I don't think so

I believe the SIBC is at Sq8
I believe the BXBC is at the old R3

So lets say the boro commander has to respond for some reason in the middle of the night he first has to go to whatever firehouse his vehicle is and then respond to the emergency. With all the vehicles the FDNY has I would think letting him take his car home would be a perk. I will say this though,,,at one time I was a back up aide for one of our deputy commissioners. At night his car was kept at the the closest firehouse to where he lived and thats where I would stay. If he had to respond to an event I would pick him up at his house. The duty deputy commissioner responds on the 3rd alarm or some major event because they take command of the fireground upon his arrival.

On your first part of your question, boro commanders are not asked to respond after hours unless they're assigned to the citywide tour command (or 4th alarm duty). If they're serving as CWTC they run out of HQ. So the scenario where they have to run to the boro command to get their vehicle likely doesn't apply. That said there are definitely staff chiefs that have a vehicle with them 24/7. My understanding is some drive themselves and others have aides that live near them in their home community.

I remember seeing on an article that involved the Chief of Training a while ago, aren't the Borough Commanders excluding CWTC duty only inservice during the 9x?

Albeit its been a while since I've read it so might be going crazy.

If they are working their 9x they usually take their Boro. The other day Brooklyn Boro was working and the CWTC took all other Boros
