Boston re-instates District 10

Boston has re-instated District 10 after a 12 year absence. District 10 will serve the West Roxbury section and consists of E30/L25, E-49, and E-55/BFU55/D-10. District 12 will be E-48/L-28/BFU48 and E-53/L16/D-12 in the Rosindale/Hyde Park section. The Brush Fire Units were designed as to be able to do High Water Rescues. Districts 9 and 12 are grateful.

I’d have to disagree and say Boston District is FDNY Battalion, Boston Division is FDNY Division. Prior to 10 coming back, most BFD districts were 5-7 companies, divisions 5 or 7 districts.

D-1 in East Boston, separated from city proper has 3 and 2. Brighton, D-11 has 3-2. Back Bay, D-4 has 4/2 Dorchester, D-7 is 4/3. D-8, Mattapan is 4/2.

Anyone know what all the “H” units are

H units are the special units, H1 is the safety chief, I dont know all the other call signs but they have collapse units, tech rescue, air supply etc.

This list is 10 years old so the personnel have changed but the titles are probably pretty much the same.
