I analyzed both the 2nd and the 3rd alarms today to try to understand the deployment of the available SI Units.
There are 18 engines, 11 ladders, 3 batallions, 1 division, and 1 rescue on the island
Second Alarm , northwest quadrant, vicinity of Goethals Bridge.
10:25 - 11:57 AM
9 of the 18 SI engines responded
7 of the 11 SI ladders responded
3 of 3 batallions
division and rescue
and B 42
Third Alarm, Stapleton, northeast quadrant, vicinity of the Verenzano
10:42 to 1:22 PM
6 of the SI Engines responded (two were at the second alarm 166 and 152)
plus 8 Brooklyn engines
2 of the remaining SI ladders
plus 7 Brooklyn ladders
plus 7 Brooklyn batallions and B 1 from Manhattan
plus R2, and S252
The only SI engines not at these alarms were 151, 153, 159, 164, and 168, and ladders 76 and 81.
I also understand that Engine 4 and 10 were on SI from Manhattan fighting brush fires. E 7 and TL 15 relocated to SI.
Also at least 3 additional Brooklyn engines (221, 239, 254), L 156, and B 48 relocated to SI.
Hope they don't close any companies
