I followed Joey, he left E 88 when I was appointed, and I worked with him at L 38 until he was appointed Lt, tough guy to follow. This is a snap of a fun memorable L 38 meal. We were discussing what to eat, I had mentioned I had duck L'orange a few days ago, instead of duck, why don't we try a chicken L'orange. Guys loved the idea, the senior man working Vinny Albanese took it one step further, he decided to add food coloring to the now blue mash potatoes and green cornbread. A very memorable and colorful meal, perhaps the only one ever served on Belmont Avenue . (Photo, circa 1987; Joe, John Koller, {decorated L 38 firefighter RIP} and chef Boy-o'-boy.

Capt Prinipio - ABC Batt 18, I don't think I ever met you but no doubt with your 43 years of service with the FDNY, as well as seeing Eng 88/Lad 38, Eng 45/Lad 58/Batt 18, at so many jobs during my buffing days, we probably crossed paths along the way.

Anyway, I wish you All the Best for a Happy and Healthy Retirement because no doubt "you earned it".
