Connecticut State Trooper killed by hit and run driver

Connecticut State Trooper Aaron Pelliter, a 9 year veteran of the CSP Troop H in Hartford was killed today, May 30th '24 by a hit and run driver on I-84 in Southington.
Trooper Pelliter was operating at a traffic stop when he was hit by another vehicle which left the scene.
The suspect of that hit and run vehicle was apprehended a short time later and is being held in custody.

At this time I-84 in Southington is closed in both directions.

RIP to our Brother in Blue. Prayers & condolences to family,friends & CSP family as well.
 
Trooper Pelliter leaves behind a wife and two children.

Trooper Pelliter also leaves behind his canine police dog who was in the car with him but was not injured.

According to those that knew him, his goal in life was to become a Connecticut State Trooper.
 
Awful to hear, glad they caught the perp though. I hope they throw the book at them
