Should be pretty soon if it hasn't been done already.

Seagrave like Engine 65, all the high press engines should be replaced on that contract.

why was Engine 54 made by ferrara and not seagrave? What was the difference in between the two rigs?

Ferrara had own one of the old high pressure pumper contracts I think there was only 2 or 4 of them that were made. This time around seagrave won the bid and they are all being replaced

The Ferrara HP Pumpers were Engine 26, Engine 54, and Engine 258. I think all three are still in service.

I think there might have been one more from that order that went to BOT or as a spare. If that's true, I think the fourth Ferrara might have been used as Squad 55 in the TV series Third Watch. I believe there were several other Ferrara's made around the same time (or possibly from the same order) that went to Mount Vernon, NY and Pelham, NY.

A pic has been floating around.

Great pic! Thanks. Can anyone post pics of the current rig?  I would like to see one of the top of the cab to see the configuration if anyone can help. I am bashing a Code 3 model and would like to make it as accurate as possible.

THE PICTURE ABOVE IS OF THE CURRENT RIG.

That is not a pic of the current rig.  The brothers across the floor are still runnin the Ferrara they haven't started going to the rock for rig familiarization yet

The configuration of the cab is the same as the tower ladders and the other seagrave engines

Is E-54 painted on top of the equipment box mounted on top of the cab?

The fourth Ferrara High Press Engine was done up but FDNY never took it.  Used for the TV show 3rd watch and I think a few other things.

Pelham NY ended up purchasing the rig and removing the 3rd stage.

What is stored inside the top section of hard suction looking from the rear? What are the longer sections of reddish looking hose stored where the roll ups are?

Curb key is in the upper suction  And the red hose is high pressure hose for standpipe connections in high rise buildings

Is there extra deck monitor stored up top? What is stored in the box mounted on top of the cab?
