Engine 65s lime green ALF question

A couple of questions for those who might know...

What years from and too did E65 run with the lime green ALF??

Eventually it was repainted red along with the Mack CFs, did E65 then get the ALF back once it was repainted or run with an all red Mack CF until they got the 1992 Seagrave?

Cheers in advance.

I'm not sure about E 65 but I know that some of the '81 Macks were never repainted. E 277's green rig was repainted blue and white by the city's correction dept. in '94. That rig remained green for its entire term of service with the FDNY.

Online photo sites have pictures of E65 running with the lime ALF in the early 80s then an all red mack CF, the mack i would imagine was one of the early 80s macks, that would have  seen the comapny through the 80s until the arrival of the first series 1 seagraves in 1992-3, wandered when the mack replaced the ALF.

It doesn't seem like it stayed in service with E65 very long. Was it reassigned to another company, go to the spare pool or just disposed of?

Many of the 1980 ALF's had multiple operational and mechanical problems and were replaced well short of the normal 10 years.  All of the 1986 Mack CF/Ward 79's replaced 1980 ALF's, while tons of older 1979 Mack's remained in front-line service.

Engine 65 was assigned the FDNY's only 1980 ALF of that unusual color. On official FDNY records it was listed as being "lime yellow", however more often referred to as "lime green". It was AP8080, one of eighty 1980 ALF 1000 gpm pumpers, the others all being red. That one was never repainted while still an FDNY apparatus. After being replaced at Engine 65, it served for several years as a training pumper at the Fire Academy. It never went to another FDNY company.

The ten 1981 Mack model CF 1000 gpm pumpers were all also listed on official FDNY records as being "lime yellow", but were normally also called "lime green". They were originally assigned, in this order of MP8101 thru MP8110, to Engines 58, 94, 42, 45, 10, 85, 277, 46, 41 and 236. Three of these were later reassigned to other FDNY engine companies, Engine 10 to Engine 4, Engine 85 to Engine 263, Engine 236 to Engine 73. In 1985, three of the ten were painted with white over red cabs and red bodies. These were Engine 45, Engine 10-later Engine 4 and Engine 46. On June 5, 1995, MP8107, originally Engine 277, was transferred to the NYC Department of Correction (note-not "Corrections") and served at their facility on Rikers Island. It was repainted in their color scheme of white over blue, with an orange stripe separating those two colors for the length of the vehicle.

I remeber when Boston decided to go to "slime yellow' . The first rig done was E-10 a Hanh. I left Boston in 1979, the last day we had in Boston was the aircraft crash at O'Hare, Flight 191. We went back to Boston in 1984 after our son was born. I was called by a great buffing buddy, Frank San Servino. There was a large multiple alarm in the North End. Thank God for a rental car, photoed many rigs. My best shots, Ladder 24 a Seagrave, and Rescue 1. Ladder 24 is now a 11x17 enlargement, along wit FDNY 207 on a run. Sometimes you are good, most times you are lucky. I will admit Ladder 24 looked sharp in its yellow with red and black lettering. GG

Re:  Squad 41

Squad 41 was organized on 7/2/98 at which time they had MP8907, which was a white over red 1989 Mack/Ward 79 1000gpm pumper. Soon afterward, they received a new 1998 Seagrave 1000gpm rescue-pumper (SP98015) on 10/7/98.

Is 277 former pumper still in service with the Department of Corrections? And do they ever use that pumper?

What year did squad 41 go back in service as an enhanced engine. I know early 90's they were running around before the official Squad designation

Engine 65s ALF was replaced in 1983 with an Mack CF High pressure pumper.

E 65's 1983 Mack HP Pumper never went into the spare pool. When it was replaced with a new 1994 Seagrave HP Pumper, it was immediately sold to the Kent V.F.D. in Putnam County, N.Y. where it served until it was retired and sold to a collector:

It is now privately owned and stored in Orange County, N.Y. (Note: Scroll down, 3rd rig from the bottom of the page. The photo incorrectly lists the rig as being Ex- E 8 and E 34):
