Mack..if you are asking me about Marine 8s berth i cant help you on that one.

If I am correct, Marine # 8 old qtrs, foot of 52nd St, was used by NYPD Harbor Charlie for several years after Marine 8 was disbanded. PD has since moved their boat to another location in that area, on 58 St, & I was told that the FD building was destroyed.

Mack, I think the house on Jay St. was where L 118 was, I don't believe 108 was in that Firehouse. Ladder 108 was put on Seigel St. after Eng 218 moved to their NEW (LOL) house on Hart St. sometime in the 1890's.

Thanks jor176.  My mistake.  There were many units in that firehouse over the years.  The Brooklyn Fire Dept headquarters and BFD units occupied for many years before consolidation.  Firehouse was also used by many Brooklyn and Bklyn/Qns commands. 

It is a shame that this historic building and fire department symbol is now used for affordable housing.

.....Originally some years ago when the City decided to relinquish it they sold it to one of the colleges for a dollar.....( and yes the City was as usual crying poverty at that time ).......it is a shame that it did not become an FD related Museum or some other FD related venue.

Marine 6's old qtrs if I am correct belonged to the city's Park Dept. It might have been turned back to them.

Does any one have photos of the old fireboat station, Engine # 87, that was on the Harlem River?
