Just curious, does  Haz Mat 1 get replaced every 5 years , it seems like the trend (2001) (2006) (2011)

According to FDNY Trucks. Com they havn't replaced every 5 years.

In 1999 they had an '89 Mack MR Saulsbury
In 2002 they had an '01 Mack MR Saulsbury
In 2003 they had an '96 HME Saulsbury (Ex R5)
And in 2006 they had an '06 Ferrera

I thought Haz-Mat ran with the Ex R5 for a while. Surprised the HME/Saulsbury is still around. Shouldn't there still be an E-One/Saulsbury still around?? What ever happened to R1's E-One after they got the Pierce??

R1 02 E-1 went to R4 and R4 went to spare.

Just curious

Is there any reason why R4 took the original R1 E-One? & R4's original E-One went to Spare?? Like why did the original R1 E-One not just go to Spare

I guess the ALF is still sitting on Governors Island, wonder if anyone goes and starts those rigs daily?

Were any of the other 1996 HME/Saulsbury rescues re-sold to departments and are currently in use elsewhere?  Or were they mostly too worn out and just scrapped?
