I received this notification from the Bell Club: IT IS WITH REGRET WE REPORT THAT FF GERRY VALENTINO (E-43 DETAILED TO DIV 7) WAS FOUND UNCONSCIOUS IN BUNKROOM, TRANSPORTED AND PRONOUNCED AT HOSPITAL. NO FURTHER INFORMATION AT THIS TIME. MAY HE REST IN PEACE.

It is with regret that the department announces the death of FF Gary M. Valentino of Engine 43, which occurred on Friday, November 26, 2010.

Gary M. Valentino of Warwick, passed away unexpectedly on November 26, 2010, while at work at the FDNY 7th Division in the Fordham section of the Bronx. He was 40 years old.



Born on November 27, 1969 in the Bronx, he was the son of the late Richard and Naomi (Twersky) Valentino.



A Fireman with the New York City Fire Department, he was a member of the FDNY Emerald Society, and attended St. Stephen's R.C. Church, Warwick.



Gary was a kind, giving person who touched the hearts of many.



He is survived by his son, Christopher Valentino, of Montgomery; a sister, Suzanne Jones and her husband, Douglas of Chester; three brothers: Michael Valentino and his wife, Patricia of Warwick, Jonathan Valentino and his wife, Lauren of Chester, and Richard Valentino and his wife, Danielle of Warwick; his companion, Gina McNeill and her children, Christian and Cheyenne; dear cousins, Naomi Kinsler, Guy Valentino, and Carolann Valentino; many nieces and nephews.



Visitation will be Tuesday, November 30, from 2 to 9 p.m., at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick.



Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 1, at St. Stephen's R.C. Church, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.



In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Assn., 328 Green Pond Rd., Hibernia, NJ 07866 or Christopher Valentino Scholarship Fund, c/o FDNY Foundation, 9 Metropolitan Center, 6th flr., Brooklyn, NY 11201.
